Patricia Feiler lives in Mattituck, New York. During college and throughout her thirty-three year career as a music educator in the Eastport and Southold Public Schools, Patricia continued her passionate study of art. Her paintings reflect a fascination with the luminous colors of Long Island's beaches, sky, and farmland. When winter sets in, she travels in a camper to warmer places and seeks out her next subject. She sets up her easel and paints on site, capturing the beauty and drama in whatever captures her interest: a desert, a prairie, a steamy marsh in the Southeast, or a Long Island beach at dawn. Patricia Feiler is a native of Center Moriches, New York, Her family has a strong tradition in writing, music and art. She is a not-so-distant relative of the renowned artist Thomas Nast. At an early age she began copying illustrations done by her uncle, Richard Nast Osborne, for books written by her father, Chester G. Osborne.
Patricia Feiler has been a frequent teaching artist at the Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center and an active member of the East End Arts Council. Her paintings are included in many private collections and juried shows.
